Just 2.5 days next week and I will be retiring after 26 years in the public school classroom teaching 8th grade math and algebra.
Bittersweet, but looking forward to it. Found out last month that by service time (20 years) teaching college algebra in the local prison, that I resigned last May will qualify me to claim SS and TRS with no penalty!

At Noon today, school for us is officially over until August!!!!!! I have some training to attend for some comp hours in June and paperwork follow up for STAAR testing! One more time teaching next year and I will be retiring!

Awesome bro!! Next Friday is my last day with kids, follow up work Monday and then I'm done too! I have 8 more to go though so my retirement excitement is on the back burner yet.
