Assistance program(s) to help with pond dam repair?

Anybody know of any programs to offset cost to repair a pond dam?

Searching the www but thought it would not hurt to see if anyone on the GS had some suggestions/experience

    Thanks

That is an option if you have the time or a nice chunk in savings

Talking about a total redo, not a patch

Man,good luck.Do your research, and get references. My brother hired an old man,and his company;years ago.
        Long story longer..$30k later(2yrs later)
The spillway pipe supposedly was the problem..Was supposed to add a "mountain of clay"..Track it in with a D4..

Long story,longer..They used cushion sand, and never saw anything but an old Deere doing any work..When it finally filled up..It leaked worse than before. He sold the place.

You should be able to find a USDA program to enroll in that could help. My FIL has put water troughs under several of his pond dams and fenced the ponds off through some program. They do not freeze so you never have to chop ice.

NRCS typically will not help. There may be something through the state that I am not aware of, though.

I would still give NRCS a call.

Give USDA NRCS FSA a call and they can direct you to any help that is available, there's was nothing available when I built my pond.

We can help design a rebuild. Can’t help pay for it.

Might call the county extension office.

That is on the short list

Only FSA help I found was for a dam damaged by flooding/wash out

If I let it go another year I might be eligible

NRCS programs change from year to year so I would keep checking. I am installing a high tunnel that will be paid in part by the EQIP program.
