Any idea on cost to survey 40 acres?

Needing to get a plot of land surveyed so I can throw up a fence on one side and lease it out. In Angelina County anyone have a ballpark figure? Its been surveyed years ago but I need it re done? Before anyone asks yes I am thinking about leasing it out for hunting purposes as well.

If it has been surveyed, there should be metal boundary markers

Is this property fenced? You might get them to just locate boundary markers instead of doing the complete survey.

This is what I need done! It’s been surveyed I just need the proper location of 2 boundary lines between my land and the other new owners. Plan on putting a fence up on the side that’s between us but want to know legal marker. My dad is 70 and is the old way. Walk here and then turn and go down to that slew. No I need it marked. Any can recommend anyone in the area? Called a place in Livingston and the lady was short.

See if you can find the original surveyor (if recent enough) and call them first; they may have their files with the data, control points, etc. to do it faster and cheaper than a surveyor going in with nothing on file.

Even if they are surveying one side, a respectable surveyor is going to need to verify an extra corner or two before staking the line in most instances.

Price would depend on terrain/brush. I can't speak for the surveyors around Angelina County but that can be some brushy country at times. My guess is you'd be looking at $1500 but could go $500 either way (more or less) depending on how long ago it was surveyed, how long the lines you need verified are, how much brush is on the tract, if creeks/sloughs are involved, etc. Sorry its difficult to put a concrete number on because surveying is so different in every area of the state.

If you can get close, a metal detector will help you find the metal corner markers.

I paid $900 for a 38 acre survey in Franklin County in 2009.

Everett Griffith JR and Assoc in Lufkin was the most responsive and helpful on some survey issues I have in Trinity County. I have not surveyed yet, but when I do I will use them.

Fellas I hit it lucky! My next door neighbors has that one side marked recently. My cousin asked to turn my pasture into a hay field. Is fertilizing etc and also said he would install a fence. You guys have no idea how happy I am. Plan on putting some cattle back on it in the winter.
