I've had terrible luck with Lew's personally. I'll stick to the Shimano's.

I’ve got several old curado Bantams and E series green reels that I love and continue to maintain. Been fishing them for years. Just rinse with fresh water after every trip and take down and clean/oil every year or so.

That being said, I bought a new higher-end Lews (don’t recall the exact model) last year and it smokes those old greenies. I bet I can cast 20% farther with it than any of them.

So far the coastals have been holding up well. We have 4 of them. We did have to make an emergency run to bay city for rods. 3 of the 4 had oxide eyes that had groves in them. Its amazing that mono can cut them like that
