Shoot as many different brands and models of bows you can and one will stand out above all the rest!! Thats the bow for you it will feel right. Dont get swept up in price or name. Take it from my experience if you buy a bow just cause of a name or cause thats what eveyone else is shooting you probobly wont shoot the best bow for you!! Says you live in Alvin go to Santa fe archery. Think its on hwy 6 if not mistaken, they sell mathews you could probably shoot a dxt, they also carry bowtech as well so could shoot a few of them as well. Dont be afraid to ask to shoot the bows if you dont shoot it you'll never know how it feels?Good luck on your search.

Go try them out but here's a short list of bows I would look into if I were in the market:

            Hoyt Alphamax 32,35
            Bear Truth 2
            Bowtech Captain, Sentenial
            Mathews DXT
            PSE Bow Madness

When you find the right one you'll know it. I still think my Bowtech 101st picked me, not the other way around.

I agree that you should shoot as many bow as possible but my $.02, go with that DXT you were talking about. I switched from Bowtech (which I love/loved) to a DXT and man was I happy. It was like going from a bad a&& comfortable Cadillac Escalade to a fast, sleak Porsche 911. That DXT A2A is short and IMO makes the bow easier to control than most others.

I would add the Elite GT500 and Z28 to that list personally

                    I agree.
THe gt500 isnt a smooth drawing bow but man its fast.

The Z28 is what i just ordered, and man its the sweetest shooting bow i have shot in a long time.

I think Santa Fe has Elite as well if not try Viking archery on the sw. side of Houston off of Bissonett and 59s.

I know Bear bows aren't the most popular right now, but a friend of mine was just given a Bear Lights Out. I tell you, that bow shot quieter than any bow at the shop! And it was very affordable to boot! At least give it whirl

I have always been a Mathews man, and have owned three. I thought after I bought my Legacy back 6 or so years ago that I would not own another bow, as it was so smooth and easy to shoot. I made the mistake of shooting a DXT, and had to have one. Won a
3D Tourney with it last weekend, and I am not a shooter. Quite, Fast, Smooth. Downside-Expensive. I'll say you get what you pay for.
