Make it a fun time at the beach.

My Brittany was named Buckshot. He adapted to Buck, and Bucky for the kids.
For working dogs, you want to avoid names that sound like any commands you may use in the field.

'Dog', after Big Jake. Always wanted to name a dog, 'Dog'. Wife wouldn't hear of it.
My FIL had a red heeler named Dog,
Even named his cook team/catering company after her, "Dog Gone Cookers"

If we ever have a male dog, he will be named Gus.

My German Shorthair is Doc, named after Doc Holliday. At first, people always think I am calling him "Dog" which gets annoying. I guess I need to work on my enunciation.
My next bird dog is going to be Duke if my brother doesn't take the name first.
