Stingrays for pizza and a cool lil sports bar. Bluewater Cowboy was pretty good for seafood. Virginias is a cool place and my dad loves the food, but you better bring the checkbook.
Second vote for Roosevelt's at the Tarpon Inn. We haven't been back since the storm. But, have often wondered if they have re-opened. Wife and I tried a bunch of those other frozen shrimp and fish joints around Port A over the years. Nothing else in town even came close. Super small place (10 or 12 tables), reservations a must, kind of on the pricey side but (great food worth it to us). Freshest seafood, and yes, one of the best steaks I've ever put in my mouth. ****, now all of a sudden I'm hungry. Ed
Postscript: forgot to mention great wine list too.
What's wrong with frozen gulf shrimp? The season isn't year round. The stuff from HEB was once frozen. It's delicious butterflied and mesquite grilled brushed with garlic butter. Castaways and Kodys are excellent.
