Military mess kit knife

Picked this up at an estate sale this morning for $.50, as I thought it was pretty neat.

Any of you military collector folk know what the stampings on the second picture are in reference to? Not finding anything on google. Any info appreciated.

That is a old one, all I ever saw were stainless.

I saw that, but I can’t find out what the stuff on the other side means. Was wondering if it had to do with a unit, or something cool like that.
