Just plain old fashioned spray undercoating from Walmart or Napa , o’reilly
Scuff with a 3M wheel to prep and it is probably on forever

Get a can of the rattle can tree pruning wound sealer

I used it on my feeder and it worked great

Just spray paint it, would be my vote.

Is this an original type lid or a replacement galvanized lid? Just curious why to spray one.

Thank you very much. I just didn't want to buy something that is pure ****e when I can easily ask here first. I also don't care to spend more than I have to on the stuff, but I do want to try bedliner instead of paint to see if I would like it for other applications, as well.

It's a ring-top barrel with the original lid.

I bought this off of amazon a couple of months ago to coat the bed of my Mule and it turned out great. Did 2 light coats and it’s stout stuff.

Put a heavy galvanized lid on it. You'll never ever have to worry about it again.

Those drum lids hold water.....ongoing battle

Rustoleum is what I have used for projects around the house, it seems to last for a long while.

Yeah, that's why I was wanting extra protection. I want to see how this works. The galvanized lid maybe in the future, though.
