Does brisket typically go on sale around Memorial Day? When is the next best sales time and what is a good price per pound for a whole packer.

Every holiday there is a chance for brisket sale at multiple grocery stores...although it rotates between brisket, pork butts, ribs and steak.
Easter, Memorial weekend, July 4th, and Labor Day are your best bets and is when I usually load up on whatever they have on sale.. Don't pass on looking at Juneteenth, Cinco de mayo, Valentines, Mothers and Fathers day type "holidays" either. I really just grab the local sales papers from the mailbox every Tuesday and look.
Albertsons had brisket for $1.39/lb over Easter.Last edited by Smart; 04-29-2019, 09:19 AM.

cooked my first Prime last weekend and will never cook another select. The extra money is worth it

Hard to disagree with that but you can usually do pretty good on Choice cuts if you know what to look for. But there are definitely some 'clunkers' as well.

Yup agreed...I buy them right and have really good luck with them. If they don't look or feel good, I just don't buy them unless the whole plan is chopped in the first place. But surprisingly I've had really good luck with suspect looking/feeling briskets too when the plan was to chop. Of course I don't cook for contests. I cook for bellies..It's been a long time since I've had a real clunker.
Guess I need to run by Kroger....$1.77 here in our ad too.
