    buying a used car?

questions for the brain trust on here..

found my wife a used yukon Denali that im interested in low miles, great condition, great price...

One thing... its for sale at a avis used car lot. i would think that since its a "higher end" vehical that it was not ragged out like most rental cars are.... Would anyone on here have a problem with that. I am going to insure that it has warranty and a clean car fax what yall say?

I completely agree with this statement. That’s my mindset when I get inside any rental, higher end just makes it more fun

How many miles. Probably nothing wrong with it since they usually sell them before they get a lot of miles.

Probably a decent vehicle, no different than buying a grocery getter

I don’t understand the mentality of abusing a rental vehicle, just seems unreasonable and immature,

I wouldn’t hesitate to buy one. All maintenance records will be up to date which is better than 95% of the used vehicles out there. On modern vehicles proper maintenance is more important than how it is driven. I’d buy an aggressively driven vehicle that has been maintained right compared to a babied vehicle where maintenance has been neglected.

Lotta good insight here that I wouldn’t have thought of.

It’s absolutely immature, but I’m not above it.

Good advise here guys.. the vehicle is in SA. I might go take a closer look and a drive and go from there.

I was just wondering about this on a couple of Sequoias that we’re rentals in Utah and bought at auction and being sold by a Toyota dealer here.

Both 2017’s with around 50,000 miles and about $8-10,000 less than similar vehicles that were not rentals.

Only concern I’d have would be if they were driven in 4wd on dry pavement or otherwise the driveline was abused.

If it hadn't been wrecked I'd get it, with a warranty.

I've read up on this...buying from a car rental agency is actually a great idea. The company typically takes fantastic care of the vehicle, performing all of the mileage maintenance on time as they don't want a missed or delayed maintenance become a liability. Go for it.
