I know budget may be an issue, but I suggest to look at a larger size smoker with heavier gauge metal and welded box and seams. After you get a unit, it may not last as long as you anticipate and you may grow out of it. You can find some good deals on used pits in smaller communities. These are usually fabricated by a local smith and you can modify for your style of cooking. Good luck and keep smoking!
