Not guessing at your retirement needs

Lots of retirement threads here and lots of discussion.

Instead of guessing how much you need and how long your money will last in retirement use a good financial calculator. This way you at least have a road map of some kind.

The best I have found is free and it is www.firecalc.com. Simple to use and plug in YOUR numbers - it will give you a year by year accounting of how long your money will last

Good advice...and start early. The sooner the better for sure.

Our company 401k website has a financial wellness tool where you can plug in your current age, balance, contribution amount, planned retirement age, & also allows other income sources you can plug in like SS & it will give you a wellness score or basically are you on track score. It’s more basic but at least is a good tool for the average person to utilize to gauge where you are at & being on track or not

Good advice, what I need is that crystal ball that tells me how long I'm going to live. Then I would know how long my retirement money will last.

It's good to have a plan but don't completely rely on it. Most retirees find healthcare kicks their plan in the ***. They also under appreciate their ability to scale back.
