where are the Turkeys in Washington County

I have a place in between Burton Brenham Somerville and to my recollection have never seen or heard a turkey. Anyone else have the same problem or know where they might have all gone or a reasoning why they might have disappeared? I figured with the ample amount of live creeks and springs, ponds, native grass pastures, plenty of thick cover, and food vegetation this would be a thriving county. I have called in and shot plenty of turkeys in the cistern la grange area and that's only about 40 min away just odd to me they are not anywhere.

Eyeworm? Or is that just quail, not sure?

I don’t know. Our place in Columbus last year was covered in gobblers. They were everywhere. This year nothing.

        I think that’s just quail.

There are still a few out there but there are certain pockets of habitat that hold them.

We are out in Lee County. About 4 years ago, we heard some in the mornings and saw 1 jake, but nothing since. I would like to see TPWD try to relocate/build up the population. I think it is the pigs more than anything. The yote population doesn't seem to be too bad where we are, but the pigs are off the charts...
