Headed to Antiques Roadshow in San Antonio

I just found out that we received two free tickets to the Antiques Roadshow on April 27th. I had applied back in February for a chance to be chosen. In March, I was notified that we were not selected. A week or two later they sent me an email with another chance.

They had set aside 100 more tickets for something called "Knock Our Socks Off". They asked folks, who were not chosen, to submit pictures of items that they felt were special.

I sent them pics of an oil on canvas by Harry Roseland that I purchased from my Aunt's estate. I guess we knocked their socks off.

Here's the painting and a link to a past thread where I asked if anyone on here knew an art appraiser. Someone suggested Antiques Roadshow so here we go.

If you see an old gray haired, potbellied, grumpy fat guy on there, that will be me.

I loved that show before I could afford cable. Lol would still watch it but haven’t run across it.

Dave -- Family friends with one of the appraisers that will be there. She might even be doing your painting. She specializes in art history and glass ware for Heritage Auctions here in Dallas.
Good luck. It sounds promising! And it will be fun for sure.

Got a bit of art. It is in the eye of the person looking.

                  We like pen and ink.................

I grew up watching that show with the folks and loved it. I haven’t thought about that show in years.

I sent pictures to Heritage Auctions last year and they said it was not typical of his works and were not interested in selling it for me. Here's two more paintings of his paintings with the same subject/girl in the dunes.

Me too, but the two above have sold at auction for around $8,000.
