I sent mine back to Luccheses and they looked like a new pair of boots when I got them back. Price was about 25 dollars more than my local boot repair.
Google "Alberto Shoe Repair Memorial". Guy has been around forever and everyone loves him. When they were doing road construction in our area, his son went door to door making sure everyone knew he was still open because it really hurt his business. People just started sending him boots, etc to repair to make sure he didn't leave. He's very highly thought of.
Ricca Boot shop in Tomball... They're right on the main drag beside the RR Tracks. The old man retired, but the son has done very good work for me too.
But if you have "Handmade" Lucchese's, I'd send them back for repair. They'll come back looking like brand new boots. If they're the newer mass produced Lucchese's then maybe I'd let someone that is good work on them.
