    Houston or Austin

Preferably an extended cab or crew cab 1/2 ton. Two wheel drive pickup
Anyone know of a place other than the regular rental companies at the airports. Need to rent it for almost 3 weeks.

What would you need it for? Daily driver or hauling?

I was without a company truck for about 8 months a few years back. I just rented one from Enterprise and put it on my company card. They worked a great deal for me due to the extended amount of time.

Gonna drive it to Idaho. I’m gonna elk hunt for 7 days and my dad is gonna drive around sight seeing. Pick me up and come back home

Most any rental company can probably meet your requirements. I have used enterprise in the past for trucks.

Best deal I got when I needed a truck for about 2 weeks back in about 2014 was Enterprise... my old co. truck took a dump and had a new one on order... Rented a F150 super crew from Enterprise until the new truck came in... Easy Peasy...

Thanks guys. I think longhorn is gonna be my best route. More free miles and then cheaper per mile cost after that. Peicw is the same for a truck or a van. May go the cargo van option. Dad is tight and the last two road trips he went on he slept in his Jeep for two weeks. A van would make sense for him

Look at PV Rentals. I think they do by the week, and every truck we rented from them was either brand new, or under 10k miles.

I'd steer clear of a regular car rental place. We had one in our office and they rarely had a truck available when the customer showed up with a reservation.

I rent trucks for work semi regularly. Can’t say that I’ve ever had an issue with them selling my truck reservation out from underneath me. I use Avis and Enterprise mostly, but think I’m trying out Turo for my next trip.

Enterprise seems to be better about it. This was a hertz and they just didn't have many trucks to go around. Unless you wanted to drive to the airport you were SOL most of the time. I was listening to a Wired to Hunt podcast and the host said the rental place didn't have a truck available when he was ready to leave. Sure enough it was Hertz.
