Go hunt a bunch of exotic does and mix in public land hunts. You will come out way ahead in knowledge and meat.
This is solid advice. You can go to a bunch of different places and shoot exotic does pretty reasonable to get some kills under your belt and fill the freezer. Public land is free and will teach you a lot about hunting.
