    Woodwork help

My son and daughter in law just had a new baby.He asked me about cutting letters out of wood, sure we could use jigsaw or scroll saw. Now for the kicker, they would go,in a shadow box type picture frame so the letters would be small, I told him to try hobby lobby or craft store. He said they would be in Russian, so back to cutting them out, any suggestions on how to cut maybe 1” to 2” estimated size of letters.

    Thanks

Scroll saw. If you find a good scroll saw artist he will knock your socks off.

Scroll saw, skinny blade, go slow, turn fast.

If your trying to save money, or don’t have or want to buy a scroll saw. A coping saw should work. If they are tiny little letters a jewelers saw will work.

I was gonna say, coping saw is great if you take your time. Just take it slow and allow for some fudge room you can chisel back /sand if needed. Use a vise/clamps.

Heck...find a wood shop with a 5 axis cnc router and have them knock them out for you!
