Well Hell yes teachers need a raise ! Wife teaches in Hillsboro 5th and the teacher insurance SUCKS !! I put her on my insurance to help on her pay. Teacher retirement is not the best either. Definitely agree if you think it’s an easy task the hop on that bus to get certified for substitute teach. Go for it ! There’s no way in heck I’d do it , nope. I see it when I go a day and talk on career day let alone from the wife on how her day went.
When my daughter wanted to go into this field mom sat her down to make she understood what the pay was going to be like as well as the insurance. Now her being an Ag teacher it’s a field she loves and she’s paid more than mom that’s been teaching 16 , 17 years. They both have the same style of kids and in two different districts and still have the same type of parents.
