    Allergy HELP

I take a Claritin or a Zyrtec every morning and Flonase a couple times a day with no relief this year. Is anyone doing anything different that is working for them. Oak this year is bad.

This, plus know that Flonase is once a day.

Sounds like your body has gotten used to what you're taking.

I swithed to Xyzal last week. I've been taking Allegra for years but this is the worst my allergies have been in a decade. I think I've just been taking Allegra for too long and it no longer works for me.

I’ve been through 3 rounds of antibiotics. I’m back to taking Zyrtec once a day. I’m tired of going to the pharmacy and them telling me I can’t buy anymore medicine. This is the worst I have had it ever.

I’ve had better luck when I start taking Zyrtec daily a month or more before the allergy season and continue taking it through the season. If you want to get away and have a weekend to recover from the allergies of Helotes, go to Corpus and spend the weekend on the beach. The SE wind coming off the gulf always makes me feel better.

I started the prescription sublingual drops a couple years ago and have been feeling better and better with much less frequent sinus infections. Still do the over the counter Allegra/Zyrtec, but not needed as much.

I've been on allergy shots for the last year-and-a-half for Moutain Cedar & Mold, and they have greatly reduced my sensitivity to the two. I've never been real allergic to Oak but this year it is kicking me in the teeth. It all started about 3 weeks ago when I was camping in Bastrop and the Pine trees dropped ALL of their pollen overnight...the Oak started shortly after and I've been fighting off a sinus infection ever since. I don't know what it is about this year but it's the worst my allergies have been in a long time.

Lifelong asthma and allergy sufferer here... even had sinus surgery years ago. The best thing I've found to do is Zyrtec and Flonase every morning and NeilMed sinus rinse (neti pot) about once a week

Your ignoring like ALL the instructions for taking those.

Flonase is a once a day drug, now you can combine azalastine with it and that worked great for me.

I would swap to alegra or alegra D, or try the new xyzal

Prescription Dymista is the only thing that has helped me and it has changed my life.

I went to the doctor and he put me on 2 rx sprays:

during allergy season I use one spray of fluticasone (mild steroid) and one spray of astepro (antihistimine)

I used to have constant agitated nasal cavity, runny nose, and itchy eyes that would inevitably turn into a sinus infection during allergy season - completely gone using the combo of these two sprays
