We just got back from a 4 day, 40 hour grind on Amistad. That lake is absolutely incredible. We had some hellacious weather but we got into a few windows of a hot bite and took full advantage. We caught a 9.4# largemouth that would have won big bass at Bass Champs had we entered and lost another at the boat, probably 8+. We got into some heavy pockets of stripers and whites Saturday and Sunday in between the front passage and wind breaks. In all we boxed over 120 fish or so and had a great time exploring the lake. They bit on a little bit of everything and were scattered. The key was just grinding and covering water.

This was my first trip to the lake so I'm not really sure what was where, other than we took some long boat rides looking for fish. We found the stripers and whites on windblown points where they had schooled up the baitfish. The bite would turn on for about 30 minutes and then turn off and we would have to go find them again. Crankbaits were pretty effective.
