Also check the distance from the bottom of the ladder to the base of the tree. I think it should be one foot away from the tree to every four or five foot you go up.

I have replaced several straps due to sun/weather wearing them out. can get scary...

Especially with two man stands. We solved that by using a climber to set the two man stands.

          Or just one average redneck.

Make your own and change the design and you won't have to worry about it. You can even put wheels on it and use it as a cart to haul your deer out.

Don't set a ladder stand by yourself. We always use an extension ladder to set the top section, even though we have strapped the mid section with cross support.

There are way too many folks on this website that will help you set that stand and keep you from posting a different story or us asking ....whatever happened too???

You need someone with you to hold the extension bladder as you ascend/descend.

              NEVER SET A STAND ALONE.

              .....and God Bless America.

                Do you sell these?

I like to place the stand, climb up and sit first to see if I like it. Then watch the ladder to platform paper thin tubing bend in half and ride the stand to the ground, then carry back and repair. All because I didn't take the time for safety. Seriously, all wise words here. Get some help, and follow directions.

No, the insurance is too high. I've hunted off them for 25 years now as well as my friend, Andy who weighs right at 300# with no problems and we don't even tie them at all.
