Does anyone have the hammer protein feeder?

Ever since I got mine when the timer says the unit is open it is actually closed and when the timer says its closed the unit is open. Anyone here have this problem? I think the owner is on here.

Any suggestions? Yes the battery cables are hooked up properly. I dont want to reverse them and possibly ruin the unit. Also I just tried to reverse the times and program it backward but the way it is set up won't allow me to do it.

    Thanks

How long have you had it. He had a batch that were wired backwards. Switch the the wires around and it will be fine. I have one like that and been working great since I switched them. Mike will probably chime in.

Agree with Brian, I got a replacement actuator from Mike and had to wire the new black to the old red wires. No issues hooking up the actuator backwards as it just switches 12 volts to change the direction.

      Great unit by the way.

There is a reset on the bottom of the timer. Did you try that?

Had to do this this weekend on one of my units that was giving me fits. Seems to have worked.

Thanks. Do you mean just to hook the wires up opposite on the battery? Red wire to negative and black wire to positive?

Edit: I just spoke to Mike and he said to switch the wires that go to the motor.

              Thanks for everyone's help.

                How have they worked otherwise?

I'm wanting to get one to fit a protein unit I have, but 3 bills seems steep to me.

I got the same thinking. Not that its not worth 300 but I just don't like spending that money. I'd guess that it would pay for itself just from low feed loss. If deer are cleaning it out, nothing left for the coons.

They work awesome. My deer during the daylight has drastically gone up. My feed bill has gone down. The way I see it is they can go to the neighbors and feed all night if they want. They come to mine during the day which is what I want. This will be our second year running them and I love it so far. I open mine for 20min in the morning and evening. I open it when the corn throws. It will pay for itself in the first year. We almost halved our feed bill.

I run all of mine open from 6 AM to 7 PM. I have three attached to Krivoman protein feeders and they work great.

Not having coons parked on it all night offset the cost of the Hammer pretty dang quick.

I had the same problem. Crossed the wires opposite of what was there & works like it should.
