Which boat motor?

Out of the 2 choices listed below, which one would you choose?

1. Suzuki 200 hp 4 stroke

2. Yamaha V-max SHO 175 hp 4 stroke

The Suzuki is about is about $2k less. Both will be on a Veranda Tritoon.

V-max is a dang good motor, but id put that $2k elsewhere and get the Suzuki.

I had Suzuki and the guy that bought it from me got screwed on the warranty. Seemed under powered to me.. yamaha makes a good motor.. honestly I'd go with whoever offers the longest warranty and which ever mechanic is closer..

Suzuki, bullet proof, quite, affordable, 6 yr warranty

Both solid, have owned more than one of both brands. If warranty periods were the same, dont hesitate save the $$ and go suzuki If for some reason the Yamaha is offering a much longer warranty then consider what the piece of mind is worth to you, especially if you are going to put a bunch of hours on the boat.

I have been told that Yamaha has a 3 year warranty and then I can purchase a YES (Yamaha Extended Service) contract for 3 more years. Have been told that the YES warranty varies on the coverage.

Suzuki has a 3 year warranty and then another 3 year, prorated warranty that is administered by a 3rd party. I have also seen that Suzuki has a 5 year warranty. I dont really know and I have done my research online on both models but cant seem to get a good answer. And the dealer is telling me 2 different things on the motors.

I had a bass boat with a Suzuki and loved it. I could run around a lake all day and use 4 or 5 gallons of gas.
