    Slingers and Timers

I'm tired of using Junk. I spend way too much time repairing/replacing my timers and slingers when I check my feeders. I'm willing to spend a little more $ for peace of mind knowing as long as I have a good battery, corn will be slung! So, what do you recommend as a replacement when the time comes? I've heard good things about Cox.

Throw anything 6v in the garbage.

I've had several from Texas Hunter for nearly 20 years now, still getting it done.

Spincaster.....They are in Texas. I have two that my Dad bought in the early 90’s when I first started deer hunting. They are still going strong today. The first one was bought in probably 90-91 time frame. It slings corn for atleast 15 feet in diameter. It’s roughly 28yrs old and has fed every season since it was bought.

My buddy had a couple of these on his feeders several years ago--they did just fine except this old guy could never figure out how to re-set and get them going so I ended up calling him and asking him just about every time---so he wrote the instructions on the bottom of the barrel for me--

12V The Timer with attached solar panel, and Eliminator plate. Call Karl at Ultramatic feeders and he will put one on your front porch before a cat can lick its arse.

Thanks for the replies! It looks like The Timer is the one to get. I looke em' up and they have a combo pack with everything. It comes with a plate, but not the eliminator. They also sell 2 eliminator plates; which one?

I beg to differ.... Texas Hunter has a great 6V unit (although their 12V is similarly priced so I'd go with it).

                            I concur(sp).
I'm running one of their 6s and one 12 right now!

I've got a mid 90s Spincast 6V that pretty much gave up on me just last year. Wasn't a hard thrower, but you could set your watch by it!
(and not really sure it cant still be used).

I haven't heard of Cox, either. I did look them up and only fouond a web site that looks to be under construction.

They do seem to have a Facebook page. They look to be a company out of Livingston, Tx.
