I wouldn't think the brand would make much difference if the label says the ingredients will kill ants.

Amdro should do the job -- just make sure you get the stronger version: Ant Block, sold as a perimeter bait and labeled to kill carpenter ants. The difference between it and the regular Amdro is that it has .88 % hydromethylnon, compared to .73 % in the other.

So Keg...IMO as an entomologist...you can apply the Talstar Pro...Bifenthrin...an awesome broad spectrum that kills everything...not just somethings. Move your stand a little...treat where you will move your stand. If you dont, what will happen...Im willing to wager...is the Talstar will knock back the ants bit they will return because the larvae and eggs in the nest either dont get hit or their get hit just a little and start becoming resistant to the chemical. Also the moisture and shading provided by the blind bottom makes for great ant habitat. You might consider for a chemical free deterrent of either elevating the blind on a stand or moving the blind periodically...whereas the colony may just follow the blind....for shade, moisture, and protection.

            Good luck.
