    Ozark Trail Tent

So I got this new tent end of last year and used it over Spring Break. Had some high winds and one of the poles broke at a joint. Anyone ever had to replace just one pole? Don't want to just trash it think I paid over 250.00 for the tent.

    Any ideas?

Its the 16x16 Sleeps 12 tent.

It's Walmart, they take everything back.

Maybe amazon or ebay has replacement parts.

I ordered replacement poles for an Ozark Trails tent a year ago. I found the companies info on the tag inside the tent bag. I think I paid $20 shipped. You might be able to find the info online

What I do is use a caliper and determine the diameter of the pole. I think the last one I did was around 8mm. Most tent poles are just a bunch of sections held together with an elastic shock cord. Then measure the length of the section or sections that are broke. Then you can order a repair kit. Some stores sell them but I find it easier to order online and have it delivered. Be sure to get the correct diameter. You can always cut down a section. I tape the section and cut with a hacksaw at the appropriate length. I think I bought the last pole repair kit off eBay for around $12 delivered to my house.

When you get the repair kit you will have to disassemble and repair. It is not rocket science but you will need to hold the shock cord in place and thread it through the poles. There are plenty of youtube videos for help. Should set you back under $20 and maybe 30 minutes of time to fix.

I had one snap due to wind as well. Called them up and they sent me a new one under warranty. Was an Ozark Trail from Walmart as well.

Trying to find it again. Did a google search for ozark trail tent parts or ozark trail tent warranty. Been almost a year since I did it. I just stumbled across the actual manufacturer somehow. I'll keep looking and let you know if I can find it again. I actually had another one snap in strong wind on me and need to call again if I can find the number.

There is a place called tentpole.com or tent pole replacements.com .... something like that (you can google it) they make replacement tent poles for any tent. I had some made and they were reasonably priced and good quality,
