    Hunting in Colorado

FYI: Any one wanting to hunt Elk in Colorado in the future can apply for preference points. You have until April 2. Anytime you think you may hunt Colorado in the future it is a good idea to apply for them. It may give you more options, no matter where you end up hunting in Colorado.

Here is a link to the Colorado Parks and Wildlife site that you will need to go to apply.

Colorado Parks and Wildlife is a nationally recognized leader in conservation, outdoor recreation and wildlife management. The agency manages 42 state parks, all of Colorado's wildlife, more than 300 state wildlife areas and a host of recreational programs. CPW issues hunting and fishing licenses, conducts research to improve wildlife management activities, protects high priority wildlife habitat through acquisitions and partnerships, provides technical assistance to private and other public landowners concerning wildlife and habitat management and develops programs to understand, protect and recover threatened and endangered species.

They have made some changes for this year. If you don’t have an account, you have to open one. You will need to purchase a small game license, log out then log back in before you will be able to enter the draw. The hunt code you will use as your first choice is E-P-999-99-P this will get you your preference point for elk.

    I hope this is beneficial.
