Its a best bet to say 2lbs per turn (at least thats what it is with my Drenalin) the safest way is to take it to your local bow shop and have them take it down to the min.

Luckie, on here works at Archery country in Austin. I bet he could help you. I think they are closed on Mondays though.

If your wife works at Sportsmans Warehouse can she not just take the bow with her to work and use their scale? or are you asking if you can go lower the 50#?

I think he's asking if the bolts have a limiter built in to prevent them from disconnecting from the riser, and if not then how many turns can he crank the bow down without risking damage to the bow and/or the shooter.

I don't know the answer, when I got my DXT it took me almost five turns to max it out so I'd say four turns down would be safe.

You CAN NOT back off the limbs enough to bring the bow below 60 pounds- not safely! Usually you risk the bow coming apart trying anything like that. I can tell you that Luckie will tell you the only way to get below 60 pounds on that DXT is to get 50#-60# limbs.

Brian, have Sportsmans put it in a vise and take the string off. Have them back the screws all the way down. Replace the screws a couple of turns, install string and see if she can shoot it. If she can then you have no where to go but up. If not, get the lower poundage limbs until she gets her strength up.
And tell her don't worry. When y'all get back here I'll help her "squeeze" it up...
                      Later bro

Why would you need to take the strings off in order to lower the pounds?

Just to find the bottom. I don't know how many turns are safe on that bow so my only suggestion was to find the absolute bottom safely. Then go up a little and if she can shoot it there.
No problem though as he's calling Fay (NTA) in the morning and will get the answer.

Nick I think you misunderstood him. He has 60lbs limbs and is wanting to know how close to 50 he can get without causing damage.

Makes sense....I always liked the limb pockets on the XT and Switchback. Kinda gave you a guide to go by.
