    Grapeland area???

Looking at purchasing some land in the Grapeland area. Looking in the 50 to 100 acre arena. Will a tract of this size be huntable in this area? I guess what I would really like to know is how is the deer density in the area. Any areas to stay away from, theft of feeders blinds etc

I did not know they had arenas that big in that area?

My inlaws’ place A few miles northwest of Grapeland has been hit several times by thieves. And apparently a girl was murdered on their dirt driveway within the last few years. I hunted very consistently out there for about 3 years, only ever saw a few small bucks and a few does. But they only have 20 acres.

There are some quality deer in the area. I have an Aunt that has a 200 acre farm in Grapeland and my Father has a 100 acre place just down the road. There is a lot of it’s Brown it’s down mentality out that way then there are also land owners that don’t hunt at all. Depends a lot on your neighborhood and management practices of those surrounding you. We have never had an issue with crime and/or theft at either place but you never know about folks.

The closer you get to the Trinity or elkhart creek west of town, the better the hunting will be.

Family's property is on both sides of the Trinity we hunt the Grapeland side sometimes hogs, small bucks, poachers and and meth. Easy drive to Walmart. Good luck .

Not sure if this is what you’re looking for, but we have a house on the lake and 42 acres about 5 miles away (between the lake and Grapeland) that we have kicked around posting on here as a package deal...furnished house, boat, land, stands, feeders. House is a 4-2 that was partially updated, but stiill rough around the edges. PM if you are interested and/or want more details.

I have a place 10 miles NW of Grapeland. Pretty good deer and hogs. There are a lot of sandy coastal pastures that are good for nothing, wildlife wise. You will need to see what else is around it. There was a place near Elkhart that was for sale, maybe still is.

I have 52 acres near there and it is nothing to see 15-20 deer in the pasture come evening time. Mornings have nice numbers also. My place is not very far from the national forest though.
