Another Kawasaki Mule guy here. I had a Mule 610 and loved it. I now have a Trans 4010 and like it even better. Both are real work horses. Granted, they are not speed merchants, but are exceptionally reliable. The only thing I have had to do was put a belt on one time and regularly change the oil.

Polaris has never let me down, but I am sure any of them will be good choices.

Go take a couple for a test spin and get what YOU like...

        100%

Mule was literally last on my list.....till I drove it.
In your original post, you described the mule. IMHO

SaltwaterSlick - thanks for the detailed feedback on Honda. Great story! It's hard for me to imagine a UTV capable of hauling a cow. Very cool.

SFAbowhunter, Traildust, Burntorange Bowhunter, yotethumper, and 76aggie + more votes on the Mule, good stuff!

Walding1989 - I've heard good stuff about the 900 series. Thanks!

BrandonA - I've also considered the JD offerings. Is yours a diesel?

DamonJ - Good advice, I'm just about ready for some test drives.

savin yours - Those are some really proud hunters - great job! Thanks for feedback on the Mule!

          To all,

One thing I've seriously considered is service. For routine maintenance I'm going to use the dealer. I've read in Google reviews that some of the big "recreational" vehicle sales places around here (Longview, TX) have service departments that can be very spotty on service (delays, improper repairs, etc.).

As such, I've thought about just going with Deere or Kubota so that the folks maintenance my equipment have a habit of servicing customers where "time is money." In other words, WORK vehicles versus recreational vehicles.

Any thoughts on this? I'm sure many folks have great recreational vehicle dealerships but around here it looks that my choices are limited.

Thanks again for all the feedback!

          Joe

Add me to the list of Mule voters.

I had a 4010 trans 4x4 for years. Loved it.
Only reason I sold it was to buy a Mule Pro-fxt.

And we really love it. Had it 4 years now. 0 issues w either.

The Pro is bigger, faster, smoother riding. But the 4010 was still fine.

I've had my mule fxt for a few years now and pushing 600 hours on it so we use it alot. Pretty much every day from hauling hay feed water to just cruising around. Taken it to Leakey through some rough terrain and it did great. Never had a a single problem with it. I would recommend a lift for it to get a little more ground clearance but other than that I wouldn't change much.
