This is a follow up to a thread that I started over the Holidays.
We just spent a long weekend up in the Big D. It was a blast! We checked into the Omni Hotel on I-635 just west of I-35E. They put us on the 10th floor and right in the flight path for aircraft approaching Love Field. The floor to ceiling windows are where my kids spent most of the time watching the planes.
Friday night we ate at the Melting Pot....kids did very well...wouldn't take anyone less than 6yo in the future.
Saturday mid day was spent at the American Doll store.....every Gouchie Mom, and little girl was in heaven there. My son and I spent most of the time stalking each other to see who could kick each other in the rear.
Ate a snack looking over the ice skaters at the Galleria Mall, then off to Medieval Times. My 6 year old son was in heaven. He bought a plastic suit of armour and sword. We sat front row, and for a very shy guy...he was standing on his seat and trying to get into the arena! He was "roaring" with the best of the knights. Then our knight rode by and threw my 8yo daughter a flower. I admit it....it touched her so much that my eyes filled up with happiness.
Mudshack Ratings (1-worst to 10-best):
Food - 6
Service - 7
Atmosphere - 11
Battles - 9
Horsemanship - 9
Total Experience - 10
I suggest going online and getting "buy-one-get-one-free" coupons for purchasing tickets online. We saved nearly $125. Stay at the Omni and get the package with the breakfast buffet included. I think it ran $124/nite. Buffet is worth $16 at least per person. And you feel like you are staying at the Ritz Carleton.
