    draw length questions

i have a question. right now i shoot a 27" dl. i have a slight bend in my arm. do you think a 26" would be too short. i have heard that if you have a little bend you will shoot better? any feedback will be appreciated.thanks.

Measure your wingspan and divide by 2.5 will get you real close. Stand with your arms out to the side relaxed, don't reach and measure.

a slight bend in your elbow acts as a shock absorber.... imo, it's not worth losing any DL if you're sub 30".

As long as your elbow is not locked, you should be fine.

Have someone take a pic of you at full draw and post it, then we can tell if your DL is right

Having that arm bent a little will also ensure you don't wear the string as it releases the arrow.

There was an article in an archery mag that goes to pro shops that I read that said the most common cause of shooting problems and archer frustration is too-long a draw length. A bend in the elbow is expected and good, too long and people start to lean back to get the length.
