Not a bad place to work. Aren't they going to be building a new steam cracker soon?

If it’s anything like Valero, several hundred apply, they all are given the opportunity to test, they interview 30, then hire 8-12. We have more people retiring than they are hiring in a single year. Not to mention those out on leave/STD.

They’ve started early work on a very large expansion.

What we hear is a complete chemical plant side. First estimate was 23 billion dollars. Ground work has started.

It was like that close to 40 years ago when I hired on at Shell in the Houston area.

Exxonmobil is hiring operators in corpus right now if anyone is interested. Brand new plant being built. Training is in Beaumont though, will have to stay in Beaumont a year and a half for training.

Retired 2 years ago from a chemical plant not a bad way to make a good living if your spouse understands what sacrifices shift workers and their families will have.

Yes. Motiva PA and EXXON in Beaumont are having a barrel/day measuring contest. I hope they keep it up lol. Good for business.

The shift work really sucks sometimes, but all the time off I get sure helps to make up for it most of the time. 14 shifts in a 30 day period helps me put up with it a little easier.

If anybody gets to the interview step PM me and I will pass your name on to one of our union members that sit on the interview panel. Good luck to all.
