Any good stories of critters getting in your stand

Anybody got any good stories? I'll start it off with a couple
I have an old shack at my place that's probably 100 years old that I made a stand out of its creepy enough to get into in the dark. One morning I'm crawling into it and I forgot my flashlight at camp, and when I walk into the door this buzzard comes flying out hit me and about knocked me to the ground LOL talk about making you clean out your pants !
Another time I'm sitting in a brush blind that I threw up one evening. So I'm in it sitting on an old lawn chair when I hear something walking around in the brush around me, turned out to be a whole family of skunks that decided they found a new home and were under my chair rubbing against my leg and just chilling for at least 10 minutes .I had no choice but to sit there as till as I could until they finally rambled off

I have the usual south Texas owls trying to get into box blinds stories from my youth.

Last year I was hunting a ladder stand one afternoon. I felt the ladder shaking but couldn't move because I was surrounded by deer and they kept looking toward me at whatever was shaking the ladder. Eventually a raccoon head peeked over the foot platform. He looked at my boot then slowly looked up at me. An "o chit" look came onto his face and he slowly backed down the ladder as if he thought I hadn't seen him.

Two years ago an owl had a nest in one of our older stands, I spent the whole spring watching them grow. Needless to say that stand is ruined now. I also built a ground blind on a flat between a hill and a really thick creek bottom, the first evening I sat in it I had 5 copperheads in about an hour crawl thru it on the same trail. I guess they follow the same trail going to the creek to hunt, and yep I tore that one down the next day.

I’ve had small birds and mice as pets in a stand before. Passed many hours feeding a mouse one season

Climbed up to my tree stand to find a bobcat in my seat. It was in the morning and way before daylight.

Opened a blind to find a pile of freshly killed rats in the corner thanks to an owl that had moved in. Fortunately the owl had only taken up residence a few days prior so I was able to clean it up and make it usable.

I generally keep a roll of paper towels in my box stands, for obvious reasons. I had a box stand this past winter that I had a milk crate in there holding extra propane bottles for my heater and noticed a lot of shredded up paper towels in it. Turns out a flying squirrel had taken up residence.

didn't happen to me, but a group of us went to brushy hill hunting pigs years ago. One guy was in a wheelchair due to a cement truck accident. We brushed him in a nice blind with only one way to wheel in and out. two skunks came into the blind with him on the 2nd night. he hoped up a ladder stand, one legged, the last 3 nights.

                      I don't know why not.......

I don't know why I never had buzzards or owls in this blind, because it was without a door for over 10 years. I never even had to deal with wasps in it during hunting season. There would be small dead nests in it, but never had a live nest in it while we were sitting.

Entered a ground blind one morning when I was young and heard the most viscous sound of my life. Like ol Jerry would say, "that thing attackted me!" I jumped backward out of the stand and got way back from the stand. Hunted that morning on the ground. At the end of the hunt, I went to the stand and peered in to find a ringtail. That thing sounded part demon, part sabretooth tiger that morning.

My brother was getting into a box blind that sat on the ground one morning. The door didn't get shut all the way and a coyote pup had taken up residence inside. It was snuggled up in a corner and he didn't see it as he got in. He sat down and must have put a foot on it because he said he heard something growling. When he hit it with the light, it went to running around his feet growling and making all kinds of noise. He managed to get the door open and it ran out. If I recall correctly, he may have shart his pants a little

On one of the few trips I took my wife hunting, I told her to crawl up into a stand one morning. She wanted me to go first to check for critters, but I told her it was fine. She eventually crawled up first and let out a scream that cleared the valley we were in. There were 3 ringtails in there looking at her. She doesn’t go into stands first anymore.

Had a lease down in Dilley Texas. One of the guys on the lease found one of these sitting in his tripod one morning when it was still dark. He about s&!t himself. He went to another stand to hunt that morning.
