Tamiflu Side Effects

My boy got the flu last weekend, so we've all been on Tamiflu prophylactically since. I started out fine with taking it, but for the last 3 days I have felt like I've needed to vomit without being able to. I handle food fine, but the rest of the day is just a roller coaster with my stomach. I felt fine yesterday until I took my dose, so I've stopped taking it all together.

This is my first time on Tamiflu. Has anyone else had the same kind of response on it? The great Google says it can be part of the side effects, but this feeling is so weird, that it seems like it could be the meds or stomach bug. Just trying to figure out how much longer I've got to deal with this before it subsides.

If it's the Tamiflu, you'll probably be feeling fine tomorrow. If you're not feeling good in the morning, better start taking it again as the flu is probably starting to take hold.

Yes the most common side effects of tamiflu are upset stomach and nausea. If you don’t want to take it then stop it and don’t worry about it. The nausea should resolve within 2 days. I can’t tell you how well the prophylactic treatment really works. The treatment dose just decreases the severity of the flu symptoms and gets you over the illness between 18-36 hours faster than doing nothing.

There’s an OTC med people are using that helps alleviate flu symptoms. It’s called Oscillococcinum

I took it twice last year and won't ever take it again. In December I got flu "A" and prescribed Tamilflu. It was Made in the USA and knocked it out in a day and a half. After traveling in January I got flu "B" and again prescribed Tamiflu but this time it didn't seem to help. I looked and it was made in India. That's really not the issue though. I suffered confusion and bouts of irregular heartbeat for over 3 months. Can't prove it was the Tamiflu but nothing else had changed in my diet or medical condition. Either way just not worth it to me.

Tested for the flu last year (not sure on strain).
I took tamiflu and it was awesome.
Knocked out the symptoms asap and was over the flue in about 4-5 days.
No side effects

Wife and I had same luck as you last year...and in 3-4 days
