    Small victory: 10 lbs down

Went on a cruise and hit 282 when I got back. First time, and it had better be the last, I hit the 280. Most of my adult life has been around 250. Played baseball in college around 240-250.

Ultimately my goal is to be in the 200's. I'm pretty well built, barrel chest, huge tree trunk legs, so I really don't know if that's even possible, but I'll give it a go.

The chart I believe I attached onto this post is being "keto" but not watching my intake. I dropped a few pounds, gained it all back, dropped some more, gained it back. Was really upset after 3 weeks only losing about 2 lbs or so. I went onto Reddit's keto sub and found the meal prep starter plan. I am going to sticking to that for the time being. It's pretty simple. On Sunday, make myself 18 meals: 3 breakfasts (2 slices thick cut bacon, 3 hard boiled eggs), 3 lunches and three dinners (Mix and match 2 chicken thighs or a 4 oz serving of ground beef sauted with onion and bell pepper, with a side of vegetables of my choice or medium salad.)

So far, it's been very filling and I'm not craving anything else. Coffee with heavy whipping cream and splenda, tons of water. Today I hit 272.4. I'm sure I'll gain some of it back...gotta keep going to the gym, also.

By my estimate, I should be 209 by November 15. At the very least, I should be in much better shape to cover some rocky terrain at the lease my uncle got us on.

So for those who are on the same mission: How are y'all doing?

I'm 278, played college baseball @ 230. Started the fire department at 230 and I'd love to get back there.
    Congrats on your progress

When you were in college, playing baseball every day and working out, presumably in good shape, you were at 240....but want to get to 200? Good luck, and not being sarcastic, hope you can make it, but just curious if that expectation is achievable?

Care to explain what exactly this is?

Good luck and stick to it! That definitely is a good start.

Great job, I tried Keto for 12 weeks, followed it religiously, only lost 6 pounds. Started on a self imposed portion control plan. Nothing off limits, just smaller portions and no going back for seconds. Started this in August of 18, starting weight 290, as of this morning I am down to 244, heading for my goal of 220. Keep up the good work.

Look up Optavia. My wife sells it and it works for men as well as women.

Good Luck! I started the day after the Super Bowl, just eating a lot less and no alcohol on weekdays. I started at 247, I'm at 228 right now. Trying to be about 205 by July!

This is my plan but a few things are off limits or severely cut back.

I've cut out all soft drinks about 6 weeks ago and I had a pretty good daily coke habit. Also cut candy bars / cookies to a very limited amount.

Reducing portions, carbs and processed / fast food.

Started regular exercise three weeks ago.

                      Down 12 pounds.

                          Small victory: 10 lbs down

I’m 6’ 3” and after the holidays and a NYE trip to Nashville I hit 270. I played college football at 255lbs. I was pretty embarrassed and ashamed. Was 248 this morning and have about 20 more to go. No special diet at all. My whole thing is portion control. My wife bought some type of green powder super food stuff and I’ve been mixing it that with a chocolate breakfast shake with some frozen bananas in it. Usually a turkey wrap for lunch and some type of fish or venison and veggies for dinner. Haven’t really missed anything. I still drink on the weekends and I’ve had some cheat days with pizza and burgers. Just willpower and moving around more.

Congratulations to everyone who are making some changes and showing results. It’s tough, just have to stick with it.

Sure, but I'm not 100% sure which part you're talking about, so this may be kinda long and apologies in advance if I'm explaining something you're already well aware of.

Reddit is a forum somewhat like TBH, except instead of talking about bow hunting, all the members talk about everything with the topics being called "Sub-reddits". Coincidentally, bow hunting and kayak fishing are both subreddits, as are personal finance, "ask Reddit"... I mean there is literally an infinite number of topics you can subscribe to, one being "Keto".

For the record, Reddit is browsed mainly by liberals and if you bring up your viewpoints, the worst keyboard warriors in the world well make you feel like a horrible person. I simply browse content that I can relate to and don't really say much.

Anyway, the topic of Keto has a subreddit with 1.2 million people subscribed to it. Most of the posts can fall within 3 categories: Proof of my success (90%), Motivational (5%) and storytelling the journey (5%).

It is a community that supports people on the keto diet. They also provide helpful links such as the Keto Calculator so you can calculate your macros, the One Week Meal Plan, which is what I described above (took 3-4 hours to make including 1 hr smoked chicken), an online progress tracker, a guide to ketosis, and low-carb recipes.

Hopefully I've answered all your questions.

I’m down 40lbs. Got up to 290, with sugar being a major contributor. Mainly I just stopped eating like a hog and cut out 99% of sugar. I’m just trying to do something is sustainable. Goal is 225. With my frame, anything less than that, I start to look sickly.
