    Heads up on Covert 3G

I know this has been talked about in the past but just a reminder that if you DELETE your 3G camera from your plan, you will not be able to add it back. Essentially you will have forfeited your cell camera for its final season.

If you SUSPEND the camera, you will not be charged and can ACTIVATE it when you are ready for the 2019 season.

I believe the 3G cameras will continue to work through all of 2019 but if anyone has additional info please feel free to share.

Yes they will work through 2019 season. Can also send in and upgrade for the new LTE/4G for a fee as well. My swaps are $200 each.

Call customer service and give them the serial number. They will let you know how much upgrade cost are.

I was told yesterday by Covert that the AT&T 3G will go through 2021 and possibly 2022.....take that with a grain of salt but that was direct from a Covert representative

I just did the LTE upgrade for three cameras and MY BIL and I will keep the 3Gs rolling for $5/ea per month with them. It was a cheap way to get more cameras and put on other spots fo $5/mo. Even if the 3Gs just last another year. Was not told anything about removing 3Gs from the system....but thanks fo the heads up. Was also told that they were not sure how long the upgrade plan would last.....in case you are on the fence.

      Upgrade costs:

      2016 - $200

      2017 - $175

No tax no shipping costs....and you get to keep you old camera

My post was for AT&T... I was assuming the OP was Verizon since he said it lasted through the end of the year and because I know Antlers86 uses Verizon and confirmed a similar result. They seem to have a similar upgrade program for Verizon too.

If you are AT&T it should last longer than a year.

She said they take the Verizon towers down starting Jan 2020. So just depends on which tower they take down first and how fast they get them done.

AT&T will support 3G through 2022 if not longer. The question is will they discontinue the service they are offering here to force people to upgrade.

Not how it works you have to mail in your old model first

So the upgrade fee get you (1) 4g....NOT (1) 4g an you keep your old 3g
