    Horseshoe Bay

Heading down there next week. The wife has a work conference (free room). Any good fishing tips for nearby water. Going to have to find things to do to keep the boy (5yr old) occupied. Any ideas?

With your kids age I’d look at fishing Buchanan. Whites are running. LBJ is refilling after a drawdown to assist with repairs post flood. Lake Marble Falls will still be low.
Johnson City has a “Science Mill” designed for kids. Very cool, kids love it. There is also a park in Johnson City where you can fish the Pedernales.
Longhorn Caverns are nearby as well.

Will check out Buchanan for sure. Thanks for the heads up on LBJ.

I thought the same, but I don't think I'd enjoy it while watching my 5yr old (who thinks EVERYTHING should go faster). Pretty sure a cart would wind up heading straight for sand or water with me RUNNING behind it trying to catch him.
