    Ford Recalls 1.5 million trucks

I know there's a lot of guys buying these new Ford F150s. Ford just recalled 1.5 million of them for randomly down shifting into 1st gear. Hope this helps.

        Here is the article:

DETROIT (AP) — Ford F, +1.43% is recalling nearly 1.5 million pickup trucks in North America because the transmissions can suddenly downshift into first gear.

The recall covers F-150 trucks from the 2011 through 2013 model years with six-speed automatic transmissions.

The company says a glitch in sending a signal from the transmission speed sensor is the cause. Ford has five reports of accidents including one that caused a whiplash injury from a sudden downshift.

Owners will be notified by letter starting March 4. Dealers will update the powertrain control software to fix the problem.

Now they need to get on the CP4 pump on the diesels.

My 2012 basically would not shift out of low and Ford took care of it. That was in 2013 and was a simple repair. It was a module change out if I remember correctly.

                No issues since!

Wife's expedition did this at 70 mph. Luckily she kept it on the road.
