There is a form you can download fill out all the pertinent information, provide a BOS. Go to the local tax office and they can print you a new title. It 's a little more involved than I make it sound but not too bad. Mine was for a lost title. Did one like your asking before I did the lost title. Lets just say I will never buy another ATV without a title
Most used ATV's and UTV's are bought without a title. Why do you need a title?
You can't prove it is your without one. Any item with a VIN has a title, helps with the sale. I passed alot buying mine with no title because not sure what you are getting. If you buy a stolen one without knowing get checked by chance, what happens next? I just don't want to be in that spot.
Any chance it’s a 2016 Pro FXT? Had one stolen about a week ago from my house? Either way I would definitely get the VIN checked by local LEO to make sure it not stolen if you are buying from somebody you don’t know.

Nope, it's a 2015 regular old Mule. Will run the VIN to check to make sure it's not Hot.
I think you will need to check the tax office they handle titles not the LEO, they may have it reported stolen but tax office could give you more info.
I had moved when my Kubota was paid off and the mortgage company mailed the title to my old address. The new owners must have just thrown it away. I had to fill out paper work and file for a lost title with the DMV along with a letter from the mortgage company stating it was free of lien and the state issued me a new duplicate title. Whole process took about 3 weeks or so.
I bought a Honda fourwheeler and the tax office told me all I needed was a bill of sale. They ran it and it came back clean. Told me its done all the time and not a big deal. I got a bill of sale and a copy of the guy's DL.
