This is a very dangerous issue. Stabilized is good, but definitely still not out of the woods. Sounds like he was in septic shock, the worst stage is perhaps abated, but all prayers are still needed. He has mine.

I’m in China quite often and I wouldn’t want to have a major emergency while there. The language barrier alone would make it scary.
