BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) -- Red Cashion, Texas A&M class of 1953, long-time Bryan/College Station resident and NFL refereeing royalty died this morning at age 87.
He started reffing games in 1952, his senior year at Texas A&M, made it to the NFL level in 1972 and retired after the 1996 season.
During his 25 years in the NFL he officiated nearly 500 games, including Super Bowl XX and Super Bowl *** and 16 other postseason games.
There will be a celebration of life for Cashion on February 18 at 10 a.m. at A&M United Methodist Church.
