question for you t/c encore owners

i'm thinking about adding a barrel or 2 to my collection, but was wondering if anyone here has experienced any problems with changing the barrels out over time. what i'm concerned about is things like parts wear like from removing and reattaching the forearm over and over or the removal of the hinge pin. i'm concerned continually removing the hinge pin will wear it down to where the tighteness of the action loosens up.

Have had one for 4 years and have 7 rifle barrels, 2 black powder barrels, 1 shotgun barrel and 6 pistol barrels. No problems at all, the original pin is still tight and even my 375JDJ hand cannon pistol barrel is tight as ever and accurate as any gun I own. Infact I just bought a new Pro Hunter with the thumb hole camo stock and highly recomend it.

i've got a 25/06 barrel right now. its a tack driver, but i'm getting the urge to get something else, maybe a muzzleloader barrel or some off-the-wall cartridge from the custom shop.

I’ve got 2 barrels for mine, a 300 win mag and a 243. I change them out all the time and have never had a problem.

Take the 2 forened screws out with a flat screwdriver, push out the hinge pin. Change barrel and reverse directions. That's it.

To answer the OP question, I have 3 barrels for my Encore and I swap them all the time and have noticed zero loss in accuracy.

Will the forend come off so I can put the new one on since this is the muzzleloader forend I am taking off? Just dont want to jack something up.

Look at your forend. There should be 2 screws. If so, then just unscrew them and the forend should literally fall right off.

My daughter used one to deer hunt with that belongs to a friend. 257weatherby 22-250 17Rem. He has had it for 6 or 7 years and every thing is still tight on it.

WHERE did he find a 257 Weatherby barrel? I've been Jonesing for one but can't find one for an Encore.

Under normal use you should never have a problem with the hinge pin. If there is ever a problem the gun carries a lifetime warranty. I have always experienced great customer service from TC. The contenders are my favorite toys.

I bought a pre-G2 Contender a couple months ago. It came with a couple barrels. I don't know how it was treated but its a number of years old and its still tight. Like they say, Contenders are addictive. I love mine.

Have had an Encore rifle for about 5 years and have several different barrels for it and have never had a problem switching barrels. Just as an earlier poster said that T/C gives a lifetime warranty and their customer service is very good. You should not have any problems.
