    Caterina Countdown.

Bout this time next Friday I will be pulling into the Briscoe Caterina to lay some smack down on pigs. Lots of pigs down there need shootin.
Best part of the drive down is stopping at Slovacek's in West for some boudin kolaches and a full tank of gas. Next stop--Dilley,Tx for ice and beer.
    Gonna be a fun weekend.

Sure hope I don't have to deal with any wets coming thru messing up my sits.

Beautiful country down there! We're right across the river from the Briscoe. Good luck!

Have fun! But I don't think you can call wets, wets anymore. I'm not sure what the pc term is currently.

Undocumented immigrant is the preferred nomenclature.

Just groups of 100 at a time, not so much to worry about

I'll be in one of these Fema trailers for a couple of nights. Usually the one next to the cleaning station. Pretty nice hunting camp. The 2 ladies that cook for us do an awesome job of traditional cuisine. Not sure they will let me drop off and still hunt with the border situation like it is now. May have to hunt from the high rack pickups and drive the senderos.

Bout 12 hours from now I'll be rolling hard south of FW. Gonna have me a Boudin Kolache in West and meet up with 20 others. We gonna have a southbound caravan of hog hunters bonafide! Street tacos when we get to the ranch and then it's on tomorrow evening.

Was another fun trip to the Briscoe Catarina. Sold a few knives and put some pork in my cooler. Decide to sit near a stock tank on a chum line rather than ride around in a high rack looking for hogs. Had a good place with many trails coming to water and it didn't take long for 2 young 100 lb sows to come thru. Neither made it past the chum line. They were lined up perfect for the 338 WSM with Barnes 200gr TSX when it hit with that loud Ka-Whop. Not even a squeal. Love them 2 fers.
First is a view of my sit. 150 yds to the brush line. Second is the eaters laying in a pile, one behind the other. Guess I'll be heading over to Kuby's in a little bit to get a pile of sausage made.

Yes, you can bow hunt and I usually do but this time I just wanted to smell gunpowder.

                          The outfitter is
                          John C. Austin
                          320 Cloverleaf Ave.

                          210-215-1837

The group I go with is a major manufacturer that puts the hunt together. Since I was a specifying Engineer for their product, I get an invite most every year. I can't tell you what the price is since I don't know. But they do allow me to drop off and bow hunt if I want to instead of riding around in high rack trucks.
The guides are awesome and will work their butts off to put you on pigs.
