Does anyone NOT feed and just hunt? Scout hot food sources and or bedding to hunt?

In a normal year, I hunt water way more than corn in West Texas. There was too much rain from September on this year to make that work.
I try to leave bedding areas undisturbed. For the most part, where I hunt the buck bedding areas are in box canyons and the brush is thick as hell so getting in and out silently is pretty much impossible.
I plant plots and do quite a bit of habitat improvement that results in deer food, but no baiting.
It’s not very effective in good habitat if you’re trying to kill a decent buck imo. Plus, dumping corn out seems like a waste when you consider the tonnage you get out of plots for cheap.
I do a little of both. Took one season and really worked a place without feeders and the such. Interesting year, and did take a nice mature 8 that season. I learned two very important things. Deer are less predictable without a solid baited food source, and that deer without nearby feeders are WAY more relaxed if the area is not heavily pressured.
No I do not. I hunt public exclusively where bait is not allowed. I tried the lease thing but sittin in a box is not my thing. Also lookin at the same real estate all season wears on me. I much prefer the mobility as well as the challenge. Plus, scouting new areas before and after the season gives me an excuse to be in the woods
