I think it is likely that the Astros had Lee rated higher than Goss. They draft best player available.

Maybe it was something in his mechanics. The Astros being so analytical, seem to look for players that fit statistically into certain models that can be developed. I think stats matter - but it is the stats combined with their current mechanics that most likely is the deciding factor.

Kinda spoils the game a little - but at the same time - some of these lesser known players turn out to be really good players after somebody sprinkles on some pixie dust.
