I had acid reflux and indigestion really bad through my thirties and early fourties. Had a hiatal hernia, really bad one. I would reflux at night in my sleep and it would enter my lungs and feel like they they were on fire. The Surgeon did a procedure called a Fundoplication. I have not had indigestion or reflux in 20 years since the procedure.

Same here.. it was so bad I'd drink baking soda and water 3 or 4 times a day. On top of prilosec. Now I don't take any meds for it.. I don't drink or dip. Only water or crystal light. Mostly water.

Yep, lemon lime Gatorade will hurt me big time if I drink it so I basically stopped that too. I drink Dr. Pepper at lunch and at dinner with milk for breakfast and water scatted in before bed and when I wake up, and some during the day. I want to get off the sodas because it kicks my butt when it starts getting hot. I used to drink tea instead of soda but it’s not worth dealing with the side effects. Maybe a drs appointment is the only way to figure it out. Just don’t want to take medicine every day, too much is not good. After taking Pepcid for a couple consecutive days my body makes me need to take it and I have to deal with heartburn most of the day to get my body to stop depending on it.

It starts with your blood type. Then your diet.

This, I have not had to deal with it since I gave up sugar and carbs, completely gone like flipping a light switch.

I got acid reflux the day after I quit dipping tobacco in 1996. Still don't understand how I started getting it after a quit. I took Zantax and off brand Ranitidine for several years before my doctor prescribe me Omeprazole. Almost never get it now.
