Went to the stand Monday with the bow and got settled about 6:45, with a feeder spin scheduled at 8:15. Well, an eager-beaver boar showed up at 7:15, from upwind. Came on in, circled the feeder on the far side and then back in to the hand corn. Waited on him to get settled and he spooked---but only went about 20 yds and stopped, turned and in a minute came straight back in. I gave him time to settle in and give me my preferred quartering-away shot, which he did. Turned on the sight light, raised the bow, drew, anchored, aimed (low for the heart) and squeezed it off. THWACK -- he wheels around and takes off, leaving the arrow where he was standing. WTH? Figured I either hit the big upper leg bone and bounced out (Snuffer BH) or penetrated but the arrow snapped off with his first lunge. Waited 30 minutes to see if another might come in before I got down to check the arrow. It was buried in the dirt, no blood, tissue, or smell at all---checked his trail out---also no blood. I have decided I shot lower than intended and the impact sound I heard was the arrow slapping him at impact with the ground--oh well. Here's a pic of him--

Hogs are back at the feeder so tomorrow night I'll be back in my seat as well, but I did re-set the feed time to 7:15 as I wouldn't want them to have a late supper.
